Congratulations! That’s super impressive that you are able to afford a car like this at 25, that’s an achievement I’m striving for as well… but college is eating all my money 🙁 You also made the right choice, there are a variety of reasons this car will be great over the long run, congrats

Just sad the MDX went from have the largest center console, to have virtually no storage in the front. Designers sacrificed function for fashion here.

This MDX is what the Mazda CX-9 should have been. I think this is Acura's best MDX to date. My only gripe is it's not rwd bias and the rear hatch glass doesn't open.

    • Ryan Gromoll

      Ryan Gromoll

Swap the 3.7 out for the J35… I have a 2012 TL with the J37 (3.7 V6) and it’s solid but the J35 is better… I think it would be possible to do that and it would be cheaper than buying a new 3.7

I really don't like the new interior and that button-style gear shifter, it tries to be too futuristic and it's not going to age well a few years from now. I do like the naturally-aspirated V6 though, turbo engines are a cancer and I can't stand them, the 10-speed automatic is very good and that's what I prefer the most, DCT is just clunky if it's not the wet variant and still DCT is mechanically very complicated to maintain repair-free. I just didn't consider the MDX because I just don't need a 7-seater, and it feels a little too big in size. I ended up with a Mercedes GLC 300 4matic which is a very nice car but I wish I could've gone with a 6 cylinder engine, but then it gets out of my price range you know, I think I'll keep the Mercedes just for a few years then definitely get the next car with a 6 cylinder engine, 4-cylinder engines just don't do it for me.

Nearly $60k for this A-Spec model and NO heated steering wheel. What a joke. I'll keep my Grand Cherokee. And unlike this wannabe-SUV Acura, my SUV has legit offroad chops with an adjustable air suspension and almost 11 inches of ground clearance. But this MDX is pretty - I'll give you that!
