Type S of course. Supposedly going for around $60,000 and from what I know is that it’s got 355hp and torque at 354 all on a V6.

So are manuals essentially dead to Honda / Acura now? Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that the next "type-s" model will be automatic-only? A very disappointing prospect! And what's with all the "by wire" systems? One more thing to break and be absolutely bloody expensive to fix. Imagine fixing a physical brake linkage vs an array of electric position sensors. Maybe I'm not fit for this new generation of vehicles. I remember when cars were engaging to drive and shifting was part of the excitement. Now everyone wants to play "Gran Turismo" and press a button on their controller to drive their car.

PLEASE READ!!! I purchased the TLX A-Spec in early November, then upgraded my phone to the iPhone 12 in early December. THE WIRELESS CHARGE PAD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANYTHING NEWER THAN THE iPHONE!! This renders the wireless charge pad useless!! My dealership was unaware of this before I brought it up! They also said there is no way to fix it due to the change in Apple's charging technology. Be aware of this before you spend your money on adding it as a feature, or if it is a deciding factor in purchasing the A-Spec!!

I’ve this same exact car as in the review. They should put the rims from the RDX A-Spec and add better side sills and exhaust tips like the ones from the last generation A-Spec. Other than that the exterior is beautiful. The interior gives you the feel of a sports car, which is very cool compared to the Audis I’ve owned. The engine doesn’t serve the car well. Too coarse and drone-like when pushed harder. Car of this size needs a V6 like the one from the 3rd generation. I feel that Acura purposely held back a few exterior touches and then the engine to make sure that the Type S version is more distinctive and desirable. Acura moving in the right direction though!

But does this Acura/Honda have any decent amount of torque? Sure 272hp is pretty good but has to have the torque numbers to match or come close and Acura/Hondas never do. I shouldn't have to get the RPMs so damn high to feel like the car is doing something like with all past Hondas I've owned.

Alfa Romeo tried to enter this market, on paper they had a great car. In realty they had a lot of reliability issues, follow that up with awful dealer support and add the fact they had just basic halogen/bixenon lights along with incandescent lights for the interior. Hopefully Acura can pick up all the low hanging fruit that Alfa kicked out.

Perspective. It's odd how (younger?) people are obsessed with 0-60 times. I've have had this car in silver for almost a month now and it is perfect for me as space really isn't an issue. I also have a 71 Cuda with a big block V-8 that puts out over 100 more HP. The 0-60 times are .1 seconds different. The Cuda gets 11 MPG and rides and handles like a stagecoach. After about the third day the infotainment is second nature and extremely easy to use. I've owned a couple of other cars in this segment and it is the most comfortable by a fair margin. And, the cost of ownership will be far less than the Germans. The audio system is top notch.

@DriveCFL they will never have it because they wont invest in the tooling and manufacturing infrastructure...its not about AWD.... even AWD in a transverse arrangement is the lesser than one with a proper longitudinal setup... its all about dynamics and weight distribution.... All serious race and sports cars are longitudinal designs.... because of balance which leads to way better dynamics.... dont drink what the marketing people are feeding you.... Acura is good at feeding people their SHAWD BS
